A vacancy has arisen on the University of Bedfordshire’s Board of Governors. The University would therefore welcome expressions of interests from anyone who may be interested in becoming a Governor.?

The Board of Governors is responsible for overseeing the University's activities, determining its future direction, ensuring its solvency and the effective use of its resources.
As well as taking decisions on all matters of fundamental concern to the University, the Board of Governors has ultimate responsibility for ensuring that it complies with its legal and regulatory obligations. It has adopted a statement of primary responsibilities

In particular, we would like to hear from individuals who have skills, experience and expertise related to the education sector.??We would particularly encourage applications from individuals with a background in higher education, but would be very willing to consider applications from individuals whose experience has been gained within the further education or school sectors.

Governors are appointed for a fixed term of 3 years, with the option to serve for a further term.
Appointments are of a public service nature and therefore are not remunerated. The University will, however, meet reasonable expenses claims.
